10 Things You Didn't Know About Apple Grove Market

We're a family-owned business

Our market was founded in 1978 by our parents, Bob and Betty Apple. We're still owned and operated by their children: us! We take pride in being a family-run business, and we think it makes us just a little bit different (and better) than the big corporate supermarkets.

We're named after a real apple orchard

The original Apple Grove Orchard was just a few miles from where our market now stands. It was a beautiful place, and our parents used to take us there to pick apples every autumn. Sadly, the orchard was sold and developed into a housing estate a few years ago, but we still like to think of ourselves as the friendly neighbourhood Apple Grove Market.

We have a (not-so-secret) secret weapon

Our head baker, Mrs. Gupta, is a wizard in the kitchen. She's been with us for over 20 years, and she still bakes all of our breads, pastries and cakes from scratch every day. Her secret recipes are a closely-guarded secret, but we think it's the addition of a little bit of love that makes her baking so special.

We're known for our friendly service

We like to think that everyone who comes to our market is a friend, and we go out of our way to make sure that they're treated like one. Whether it's a friendly chat at the checkout, or helping to carry your shopping to the car, we always aim to give our customers the best possible service.

We have a very loyal customer base

Many of our customers have been shopping with us for decades, and we think that's because they appreciate the personal touch that we offer. We know our customers by name, and we're always happy to help them find what they're looking for.

We're more than just a grocery store

As well as being a great place to do your weekly grocery shopping, we also have a fantastic deli counter, a great selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, and a wide range of other products and services. We even have our own in-house florist!

We're passionate about supporting local businesses

We love working with local suppliers, and we're always on the lookout for new and interesting products to stock in our market. We carry a wide range of local products, from honey and jams to artisan cheeses and freshly-baked breads.

We're a community hub

Our market is more than just a place to buy groceries; it's also a place for the community to come together. We host regular events and activities, from cooking classes to book clubs, and we're always happy to support local charities and causes.
